Champion's Car New to the Museum

The North East Motor Sports Museum is all about New England drivers. Last year, Maineís Austin Theriault dominated the 20-race ARCA series, winning seven of the seriesí 20 events. He began the year winning at Daytona.  Taking home the winnerís trophy at the Elkhart Lake road course, the tight 3/8 mile paved track in Elko, Minnesota, and even on the one mile dirt track in DuQuoin, Indiana and the Salem high banks, Theriault and his team owner Ken Schrader proved that they could win on any type of race track. On Monday, May 21, Theriaultís championship winning car, which had been given to the museum by Schrader, arrived at the museum. Itís one of many new cars on display this year. Pictured is Theriault and the museumís VP Bob Bianchi who made the 2100 mile round trip to pick up the car with  Bob Bartis and Steve Sawtelle.
