The North East Motor Sports Museum has received its first helmet donation. The helmet was worn by Tony Stewart during the 2011 season and was presented by Stewart to Dick Berggren on behalf of the museum at the 2012 Prelude to the Dream event at Eldora Speedway. The helmet will be displayed in a place of honor at the museum. Construction will begin as soon as funding is in place. The Prelude to the Dream is an annual event which includes drivers from a broad array of racing series including all three of NASCAR’s top divisions, Indy car and drag racing. The 2012 event on the half-mile dirt track was won by Kyle Busch.
