We have found a few automotive museums you may not be aware of and we’ll use our Facebook page to let you know about them.

The Owl’s Head Transportation Museum in Maine sounds as if it must be tiny and remote. It is remote, just outside of Rockland, but it’s a very big and very worthwhile museum to visit. Begun in a small building with just one car and one airplane, today’s Owl’s Head is absolutely huge with dozens of planes in heated display areas along with a very impressive collection of vintage cars, motorcycles and trucks. Even a couple of real nice fire engines.

There’s a lot to do in the area, including the famed Farnsworth art museum, a lighthouse and even a lighthouse museum. You could spend a weekend going to Owl’s Head’s Transportation Museum and other area attractions, especially in the summer

.

The photo that runs with this copy is their only race car, but as you can see, it’s a good one. The Owl’s Head’s Transportation Museum is a worthwhile place to visit.
