A LOT GOING ON

Paid members are invited to attend the annual RHPG Open Meeting which will be held at Stafford Speedway, Saturday April 19 at 1pm. This is your chance to offer your opinions on the museum project. Not a member? You can join before the meeting begins and participate as a member.

We are grateful for Maxine Snelgrove’s donation of motorsports books, photographs and memorabilia. Maxine’s father was a racer and a strong fan. Through Maxine’s generosity, museum visitors will be able to see his collection.

Priscilla Bush of Exeter, NH, has donated a substantial number of magazines, artifacts and speedway programs to the Museum. She is a long-time race fan who wanted to see her collection go to the Museum as she downsized.

Dana Thomson has donated the proceeds of stock shares sold to benefit the Museum. Ken Smith donated shares of EXXON-Mobil from which the Museum receives dividends. We offer tax advantages to those donating stock or proceeds from stock sales.

Board member Bob Coy has been busy. The attached photo shows Bob at Daytona at the motorcycle monument where many old time bike racers gathered during Bike Week in March. Bob was involved in that function, including designing the official poster. He organized a vintage motorcycle race team that competed in a Phillip Island Classic in January in Australia. Bikes were shipped down under for the event.

Congratulations to Board Member Andy Cusack who for the second time in his career was voted Northeast Region Promoter of the Year by his peers. Andy owns and operates the Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine.

Significant progress has been made toward creation of the book, “The History of Auto Racing in New England.” Several chapters have been completed and are in hand. The book is being published by Coastal 181. All profits from it will go toward the North East Motor Sports Museum.
