THE NORTH EAST MOTOR SPORTS MUSEUM HAS A HOME

The Board of Directors have voted to build the North East Motor Sports Museum on two acres of land leased for nearly 100 years from the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Lease terms from the track are generous, $1 per year.

The initial structure will be approximately 10,000 square feet, 60’ wide by 164’ long with garage doors at each end. The building will include an enclosed library, theatre that will show continuous videos of racing in New England and a small office. The floor will be entirely open with no floor-to-ceiling posts.

The site is just north of the Shell station and the track’s south parking lot entrance and is directly on Rt. 106.

Although the majority of money required to erect and complete the building is in hand, additional funds are required before construction can begin. Your contribution payable to the North East Motor Sports Museum can be sent to 7 Bayview Rd., Ipswich, MA 01938. Whatever help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Fifteen of the 16 Directors who were present at Seals-it in Ellington, CT for the vote are pictured. They are (back row L-R), Andy Cusack, Russ Conway, Al Novotnik, Ken Smith, Dave Patten, Paul Giblin, Ed Shea, Pete vonSneidern, and Paul Aldrich; (front row, L-r) Skip Matczak, Gil Coraine, Mark Hann, Ric Mariscal, Dick Berggren and RA Silvia. Also voting but not pictured were Joe Freeman, Dick Batchelder, Ray Boissoneau, Ron Bouchard, Bones Bourcier, Bob Coy, Ricky Craven, Lloyd Hutchins, and George Summers.
