MOTORCYCLE RIDE BENEFITS MUSEUM

On Sunday, June 14, Board Members Bob Coy and Paul Giblin's annual Gypsy Tour motorcycle ride left Wiers Beach in Laconia, NH with a police escort heading to New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Riders paid $10 each, all of which went to the Museum project, to participate.

On arrival at the track, the group was led on a three-lap run around the road course (which includes much of the oval) led by the 1953 winner of the Loudon Classic, Ed Fisher.

Ed, who had just turned 90 years of age, led a spirited ride of the largest group by far to do the Gypsy Tour. Once the ride was over Fisher, who was the Grand Marshal for the vintage motorcycle races put on by Coy, received several awards, one from the Governor of New Hampshire. At the conclusion of the awards, one of the riders offered a $500 check as his personal contribution to the museum. The donor requested anonymity.

Participants then enjoyed watching vintage motorcycle racing.

Everyone had a grand time and the Museum moved one step closer to opening day.
