JIM MARTEL RESTORES ANOTHER

The latest in a long line of race car restorations by Jim Martel is finished. Begun in September, 2016, the car was backed out of the garage and driven by Scott Martel (pictured with his father) on December 7, 2017, more than a year later. It will be taken to Bentley Warren's private museum in Arundel, Maine where it will be on display. Bentley was its first driver, helped build the car, and won big with it. The car also won Syracuse with Don Diffendorf at the controls.

Martel didn't get much to begin work with but photography was enormously helpful in restoring the car to its former glory. As you can see from the photos, the car's remains were in very tough shape. The entire New England motorsports community owes Jim Martel a huge debt of gratitude for restoring not only this car but so many others as well.
