RICHIE EVANS CAR ON DISPLAY

RICHIE EVANS LAST CAR ON DISPLAY AT THE MUSEUM

We are proud to display Richie Evans’ last modified. Built in 1985, it was to be Evans’ primary ride for the 1986 season. But, Evans was killed in a Martinsville race car crash before the body panels could be painted and attached. Everything else was done at the time of his death.

Art Barry bought the car and in its first race, Brett Bodine won, ironically, at Martinsville.  George Kent, Jeff Fuller, Mike Ewanitsko and Ken Barry also won in the car.

It was restored by Art Barry and acquired by Paul Oberg. The finished car was shown in public for the first time on Saturday, September 21 at the Full Throttle weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway after which it was moved to the museum.
