Jerry Lischke’s 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Road Racer Arrives

As we kick off the New Year, new exhibits have started to arrive. Built from scrap parts in the late 1960’s, Jerry Lischke’s 1964 Chevrolet Corvette B production road racer is one of a kind. The unique color is actually a 1969 Ford Mustang Grabber Orange. People often ask Jerry “why did you paint a Chevy a Ford color”, “to irritate them” he replies!

Jerry first raced the car at Bryar Motorsports Park in September 1970. In addition he raced at Grenier Field in Manchester, NH, Thompson, CT road course and various autocross races. The car was sold in 1979 so Jerry could focus on family and business. He bought the car back in 1984 and resumed racing at Corvettes of Mass events at New Hampshire International Speedway as a driver and instructor during the early 1990’s.

In the year 2000 the car was modified for street use and Jerry has been driving the car regularly on New England roads ever since. The car has even been featured in some of the region’s top car shows, making appearances at the Misselwood Concours d’Elegance and the Boston Cup. We are pleased to feature Jerry's Corvette at the museum as we reopen for 2022. The museum is open every Saturday during the winter 10am to 4pm.
