Take a ride in a 1912 Stanley Steamer on April 16th!

The Stanley Museum of Kingfield Maine will be apart of the 2022 New England Racers Reunion event. Bill Cooke and Sarah Moon will be bringing a fully operational 1912 Model 74 Stanley Steamer passenger car. Learn about the start up and operational process of these amazing automobiles and you can even climb aboard and take a ride! We are asking for a suggested $20 per person for this unique opportunity to take a ride in a steam car, kids free! Money raised will be split between the Stanley Museum and the North East Motor Sports Museum.

New England natives F.O and F.E Stanley were the proprietors of the Stanley Motor Carriage Company. The brothers manufactured steam cars for the public and funded competitive efforts. Their cars competed in land speed trials and historic races such as the Vanderbilt Cup. They set the world land speed record in 1906 at 127mph with a one off canoe shaped Stanley Steamer. The are the only New Englanders to ever hold the land speed record title.
