DICK BERGGREN, KEN SQUIER, MIKE JOY & JACK ARUTE III HONORED

On a brisk autumn day family, friends and fans from across the region and country gathered to honor four of the most prolific New England broadcasters ever to hold a microphone at an auto racing event. Dick Berggren, Ken Squier, Mike Joy and Jack Arute III were honored at New England Racing Museum’s 6th annual Legends Day event. Dave Moody sat in on behalf of Ken Squier. Allen Bestwick hosted the event which was filled with stories of humble beginnings, deep reflection and many laughs. The event was supported by Fox Sports.

Legends Day was started in 2017 by late board member Russ Conway as a way to honor New England’s most successful and celebrated motor racing personalities. The 2023 event as usual featured a catered lunch, panel discussion and permanent banner unveiling in which the honorees likeness is preserved inside the museum. New for 2023 was a photo opportunity and private tour for VIP ticket holders. A auction to benefit the nonprofit New England Racing Museum was also added to this year’s program.

The event officially concludes the museums 2023 fundraising event season. The 2023 season at the museum has been the most attended to date and we hope to see you all back in 2024 for another exciting year of new exhibits, events and fun. From all of us at the New England Racing Museum have a great holiday season.
