Joey Logano visits the New England Racing Museum
On July 22, New Hampshire Motor Speedway hosted a Goodyear tire test in advance of the track’s NASCAR Cup Series event scheduled for September 21. Among those participating in the test was New England’s champion driver Joey Logano. Joey saw some of his first races at NHMS and won his first Cup series race at the New Hampshire track. He is wildly popular in New England where fans see Joey as a local.. Late in the afternoon he called to ask if his crew could see the museum. Jim Lowrey, Bob Bianchi, Steve Locke, Bob Bartis and Dick Berggren opened the museum and were all there to welcome Joey and more than a dozen of his teammates. They spent an enjoyable hour in the museum discovering the history of motor racing in New England. During the visit Logano asked if the museum wanted to keep his Martinsville-winning car that’s currently on display. The museum staffers in attendance said something like “Hell yes!”. Our photo shows Jim Lowrey with his modified, which is on display at the museum, alongside Joey Logano. Back |
